I again failed to make it to my first ever hot yoga class on time. Drove through traffic, around a stupid construction detour, and got to the building complex at 5:50 (for a 6pm class). The security guard told me the class was in building 6 and it would be easier to drive than to walk. Erg!
So, I took it as a sign from my Higher Power that I wasn't meant to start hot yoga tonight. It's probably a good thing considering I'm headed to the 21:30 Duke v Michigan State game.
I left the parking lot feeling frustrated and angry, but was really trying to let it go. I wished I could have just popped over to CrossFit Durham and get my workout on. Instead, I did the WOD at home. My time was 15:30, which probably could have been faster, but I was fighting down the enchiladas rancheras from lunch...

I feel so much better after getting my workout. My roommate thinks I'm crazy. He asked, as I was headed out the door with my yoga mat and jump rope, why I was going outside and if I knew it was cold out there. When I returned, he told me I looked really tired. I told him what my workout was and he asked "why do you torture yourself like that?".
I don't really have an answer to that question. I just know that you don't want to be around me when I haven't had a good workout in a few days.
I'm looking forward to getting into the swing of my new yoga/Pilates routine.
